Naalkaatti (நாள்காட்டி, "the app") is an Android Tamil calendar with panchangam, festivals and muhurtham days, in Tamil, English and Tanglish. The app is built by oodhwe ("we", "our", "us"). Questions? Contact us at support@oodhwe.in.
Your settings (language, theme, calendar method and range, chosen city) and the entries you add under "Saved" are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. We cannot see them. If you have turned on Android's backup for your account, Android may include this app data in your device backup; that is controlled by you and Google, not by us. Uninstalling the app deletes this data.
Dates you enter, such as a birthday or the date of a person's passing, are used only on your device to work out the matching Tamil date and tithi. If the date falls in a year that is not built into the app, the app asks our server for that year's calendar file. The request names only the year, never the date or any name you typed.
The app fetches calendar data (panchangam tables, festival and muhurtham rules) from app.oodhwe.in so that corrections can reach you without an app update. This happens when the app opens and about once a day. Like any web request, it reveals your IP address and basic device and app details (for example the Android version) to our hosting provider, which may keep standard server logs. We do not use these logs to identify you. Downloaded files are digitally signed and checked before use.

The position is used on your device and is not sent to us or stored on any server. The app shows banner ads using Google AdMob on some list screens (Festivals, Muhurtham and Saved). Google may collect and use your advertising ID, IP address, device and app-usage information, and cookies or similar identifiers, to serve, measure and personalise ads. We ask for ads suitable for general audiences.
In the European Economic Area and the UK, a consent form is shown when the app starts. You can change your choice at any time under "Ad privacy options" in Settings, where that option applies.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings (usually under Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads). To see how Google uses data, read Google's partner-sites policy.
When you use "Share" or "Print", the app creates an image or PDF and hands it to the app you pick (for example WhatsApp or a printer). What you send, and to whom, is your choice.
The app is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
