Moi Gift Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Moi Gift ("the app") is an offline register for recording moi (gift money) and gifts at family functions, built by oodhwe ("we", "our", "us", www.oodhwe.in). This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. For any privacy question, write to support@oodhwe.in.

2. The Short Version

• Your entries are stored on your phone. We run no server for the app and we never receive your data.
• There are no accounts or sign-ups with us.
• We do not use analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs.
• We do not collect, sell or share your personal information.
• Cloud backup to Google Drive is optional, goes only to your own Drive, and is encrypted.

3. Information You Enter

The app stores what you type or speak into it: your profile (name, and optionally mobile number and native place), function details, and each guest entry (name, city, job, amount, and gold, silver or article details, with any comments). Guest details belong to the people you record; please use them only for the function they were collected for.

All of this is kept in a database on your device. It is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data, unless you have made a backup.

4. PIN and Fingerprint Lock

If you set a PIN, only a hashed form is kept, in your device's secure storage. Fingerprint or face unlock is handled by Android; the app never receives your biometric data.

5. Voice Entry

If you use the microphone button, the app uses the speech recognition service on your phone (usually provided by Google). Depending on your phone and whether an offline language pack is installed, your voice may be sent to that service to be turned into text. That processing is governed by the provider's own privacy policy. The app itself does not record or store audio, and typed entry always works without the microphone.

6. Backup, Export and Sharing

• Backup files (.moibackup) are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM. Keep your backup password safe; we cannot recover it.
• Google Drive backup is optional. If you sign in with Google, the app can create and read only the backup files it created (the "drive.file" permission). It cannot see your other Drive files. We do not receive these files.
• Reports and exports (PDF, Excel) and moi bundles are created on your device and shared only when you choose to, using your phone's share menu. Once shared, they are in the hands of the app you shared them with.

7. Permissions

You can revoke permissions at any time in your device settings.

• Microphone: only for voice entry. You can decline and type instead.
• Biometrics: only to unlock the app if you turn on fingerprint lock.
• Internet: used only for Google sign-in and Drive backup if you choose it, for voice recognition by your phone's speech service, and for opening links such as this page in your browser.

8. Contacting Support

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include. We use it only to reply and to improve the app, and we do not share it. Please do not email guest lists or other sensitive data.

9. Children

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children and needs no account to use.

10. Changes to This Policy

If the app's data practices change, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
